Financial Resources

Those relying on Christian Science for healing should not be deprived of Christian Science Nursing care for financial reasons.

There are several sources of financial assistance for those who want Christian Science Nursing care or Christian Science Nurse training, but have difficulty affording it.

Benevolence and funds that provide financial assistance vary from country to country. Please check with the clerk of a Christian Science branch church or Reading Room near you to find out what is available in your area.

The following summarizes information from various sources. Additional information and application forms can be obtained by contacting the organizations directly.

In addition, patients entering a Christian Science Nursing facility should ask about financial assistance and benevolence programs available through their facility.

Financial Assistance with the cost of Christian Science Nursing care and Christian Science Nurse's training can be found at the following links:

United States

*Note*

In the United States some insurance companies cover Christian Science Nursing costs. If a patient is eligible for Medicare or Medicaid, reimbursement for some expenses is available at participating facilities (Medicare/Medicaid support is exclusive to facilities, it does not contribute to in-home care). Check the facility’s website for more information.

Facilities may offer partial benevolence, or be able to share information about available resources to those patients who qualify.

The Dominion Foundation, based in Richmond, Virginia, is a benevolent funding organization established to support Christian Science Nursing care in the home. Individuals relying solely on Christian Science for healing and who have engaged a Christian Science Nurse for temporary care in their home may apply for financial assistance in meeting the costs of that care.

The Dominion Foundation is not able to provide assistance with Christian Science Practitioner fees or Christian Science Nursing care in a facility.  After insurance benefits have been fully utilized, The Dominion Foundation may be able to assist with some portion of the remaining costs, including insurance deductibles.

Contact the Foundation if you would like to receive an application for assistance, request additional information, or be included on the Foundation mailing list.

The National Fund for Christian Science Nursing (NFCSN) is a benevolence fund that can assist Christian Science Nursing patients in the United States and its territories.

The fund can help in any situation where a Christian Science Nurse is needed, including in-home care and facilities.

NFCSN grants can help pay costs associated with Christian Science Nursing facilities, Visiting Christian Science Nurse services, Private-Duty Christian Science Nurses, nursing supplies and equipment, travel expenses, and related Christian Science Practitioner invoices.

While this may not pay for all costs associated with care, these grants can be an aid to those individuals who are seeking and finding healing through Christian Science.

For more information, visit their website here.

If you would like to learn more about The Principle Foundation, which administers the NFCSN, you may visit their website here.
